Heidi's Rules for a Happy Marriage

After 20 years of {mostly} blissful marriage, I am often asked what the secret is. The secret is---there is no secret...marriage is alot of hard work. It's that simple. What looks easy, is really a lot of hard work.

When you visit our home, you'll notice these rules posted on my refrigerator and on my beside table. I guess you could call these "my tips for keeping it all together for so long." I've had them since the first year Mr. B and I were married. I'd love to know who first figured these out. That person for sure...knew the secret. ENJOY!

1. Never both be angry at the same time. {hard, but worth it}

2. Never yell at each other unless the house is on fire. {my kids love this}

3. If one of you has to win the argument, let it be your mate.

4. If you have to criticize, do it lovingly. {or not at all}

5. Never bring up mistakes from the past.

6. Neglect the whole world rather than each other.
7. Never go to sleep with an argument unsettled. { may not sleep for days}

8. At least once every day try to say one kind or complimentary thing to your life's partner.

9. When you have done something wrong, be ready to admit it and ask for forgiveness.

10. It takes two to make a quarrel, and the one in the wrong is the one who does the most talking. {or is the most defensive!}

Don't you WISH you would get these for Christmas?

Wish...I just love that word! If I could make 3 gift wishes for Christmas...this is what you'd see under my Christmas tree:

The Vera Bradley Stocking above is a must. I think it would be adorable on my daughter, Peyton's door. Each day I would fill it with treats from Vera Bradley. Gifts like the tech case, the day planner and the new zip ID case.
These festive CAR MATS would be my second gift wish. Personalized with my monogram, of course! Should I go with the black and red design shown above? Or should I do a black mat trimmed in black and white polka dots with hot pink lettering? Hmmmm.

My last wish would consist of these fabulous engraved acrylic pieces. I would use the tray on my bed to hold the remote control and a magazine. The ice bucket would be perfect on my bedside table. The engraved wine glasses are so beautiful---I'd likely order a set of 8 !
So, there are my 3 wishes for Christmas. What Frill Seekers Gifts are you wishin' for this Holiday Season?

Silly Bandz...the rubber band craze at Frill Seekers's Saturday night and I am just S*I*L*L*Y! Why you might ask? Let's just call it one of those "Why didn't I think of that moments?"

Unless you've been hiding under a rock somewhere or in a foreign've likely spotted these festive little silly shaped rubber bands on some kid's wrist. Meet SILLY BANDZ. Kids want them...Frill Seekers Gifts has them!

The rubber bands are in the shape of creatures, animals or fun shapes when not on the wrist. Really kinda cute, I must admit. Kids, teenagers and even adults are collecting them~trading them~wearing them!
Silly Bandz are fun, inexpensive and addictive. They will also make a great stocking stuffer for Christmas 2009. Last week, we sold out in 2 days. WHEW! (for my fellow shop owners who STALK this blog for ideas...I say come up with your own creative idea...wink, wink!)
Call us to get some silly...850-267-GIFT !

The other reason I'm silly tonight? My oldest child is at a beach bonfire, while the youngest is at a laser tag station. Leaving me to ponder what new hobby I can take up to fill my quiet Saturday nights.

One thing for will have to be something...SILLY!
